Nurses have escalated their work-to-rule protest at James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown with the full withdrawal of labour today and on Thursday.

The withdrawal of labour, which started at 8 a.m. today, will last until 2 p.m. this afternoon and will be repeated over the same hours on Thursday.

The dispute - now entering its fifth month - is a claim for an increase in on-call paymentsIrish Nurses' Organisation members say they are angered at what they call a "poor response" from management to settle the claim and say they are withdrawing their labour to focus them on this dispute.
