Civil servants will receive the benchmarking payments that fall due in January after a Government-appointed body found the increases are justified.
The Department of Finance today published the first-phase report of the Civil Service Performance Verification Group (CSPVG) chaired by Dr Donal de Buitléir, which finds that payment of the increases is warranted for civil service staff.
Four other Government-appointed bodies which are examining progress issues in the local authority, health, justice and education sectors have yet to publish their reports. There are also outstanding pay issues for prison officers, teachers and some staff at Dublin City Council's cleansing department.
The Department of Finance has also published correspondence from the group to the heads of departments of the 27 organisations which come within the remit of the CSPVG.
"Payment of the benchmarking and general round increases in the case of each sector, organisation and grade is dependent of verification of satisfactory achievement of the provisions of Sustaining Progress," a statement from the Department of Finance said.
"These provisions relate to co-operation with flexibility and ongoing change; satisfactory implementation of the modernisation agenda in the agreement and maintenance of stable industrial relations and the absence of industrial action."
