Cablelink's 350,000 customers will have a change of programmes tomorrow with the introduction of the National Geographic Channel. It re places NBC Europe which is going off air, writes Michael Foley, Media Correspondent.

National Geographic Channel is an extension of the magazine and features stories about world cultures, natural phenomena, adventure, exploration and wildlife. The channel will broadcast from 11 a.m. until 5 a.m. A business channel, CNBC, will be shown before 11 a.m.

CNBC is a joint venture between NBC and Dow Jones, publisher of the Wall Street Journal.

The new channel will be available to cable subscribers in Dublin, Waterford and Galway. It is not available to Cablelink's MMDS customers.
