Police in Co Down have started a murder investigation after a man was killed in Warrenpoint early this morning.
The man who was 35-years of age and from the area died in hospital at 1 a.m. It is understood he may have been involved in an earlier altercation outside a pub.
A post-mortem to establish how he died is being carried out this afternoon and results are expected tonight or early tomorrow morning.
No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
