Motorists are being warned to take care while driving due to icy road conditions across the country.
Met Eireann issued a snow warning over the weekend saying heavy sleet and snow falls were expected in northern and western regions.
Today snow cover and ice on the roads has made driving conditions hazardous in many areas.
According to AA Road Watch black icy and icy conditions have been reported in Galway, Clare, Cavan and Carlow. They have urged drivers to drive with care.
A spokeswoman for Met Eireann said temperatures are expected to rise from today.
