Millionaire in jail

Washington, Tuesday.

Washington, Tuesday.

Mr Henry Sinclair, the oil magnate, who is now serving three months in the district of Columbia Jail for contempt of court, has been appointed prison pharmacist, on the strength of the fact that he studied pharmacy at the University of Kansas thirty years ago.

This morning he assisted the doctor to perform a minor operation on one of the inmates. He rose at 5 o'clock and breakfasted on cereals, ham, eggs and coffee.

Two prisoners in the jail are awaiting execution, and the electric chair, on a platform covered with white cloth, is plainly visible at the end of the mess-hall, where the millionaire takes his meals.
