Two elderly men have been killed in separate collisions in the past 24 hours.

Gardaí in Co Donegal are investigating a crash yesterday in which 83-year-old Denis Ivan McIvor of Talbot Park, Derry, was killed at around 4.30 pm at Sappagh, Muff.

The deceased was the driver of a car that collided with another vehicle on the main Burnfoot to Muff Road. He was taken hospital with serious injuries but died shortly later.

In Co Wexford, gardaí from Taghmon are investigating a crash last night in which a 78-year-old man was killed.

Czeslaw Romanowski, of Tullycanna, Co Wexford, was walking at Waddingtown, Cleariestown, when he was knocked down by a car.
