London - Amnesty International hit out yesterday at the imminent execution of the Oklahoma bomber Timothy McVeigh, saying it would turn him into a martyr and prompt copycats.
McVeigh's fertiliser-filled truck exploded outside a US federal government building in Oklahoma City in 1995, killing 168 people and injuring hundreds more. He is due to be put to death by lethal injection on May 16th by his own consent.
