A bar manager employed by Raphoe nightclub owner Frank McBrearty Snr confirmed at the Morris tribunal that his bar was closed and re-opened regularly late at night after gardaí inspected the premises to enforce the licensing laws.
Jim Mitchell said he had seen gardaí walk past other licensed premises which were open after hours in order to inspect the Parting Glass nightclub. The tribunal is examining claims that a regime of inspections of Mr McBrearty's nightclub to enforce the licensing laws were part of a general campaign of police harassment.
