Markets update: Telecoms revive after losing run

AIB gained 11 cents to euro 11.95, Bank of Ireland put on 13 cents to euro 9.85 and First Active added 3 cents to euro 2.45 in an oversold bank sector.

Green Property gained 5 cents to euro 7.70 after reporting a 56 per cent rise in pre-tax profits last year.

After posting major losses in the previous two sessions, the telecoms sector shrugged off worries of debt downgrades and the woes after the launch of Orange, France Telecom's mobile subsidiary.

European markets are steady this morning after yesterday's falls, with recovery in TMT stocks, in particular, featuring strongly.
