A man's body has been found at the side of the road in County Offaly.
The man, who has not been identified, appears to have died from a gunshot wound to the head.
The man's body was discovered on the N62 road near Coolderry by a passer by at around 8 a.m. this morning.
Gardaí at Birr said they were treating the death as suspicious.
They said: "There appears to be head injuries on the deceased." identified.
The State Pathologist has been called in and a team from the Garda Technical Bureau are en route also.
