A man detained in connection with the fatal stabbing of Mr Karl Beresford (28) of Buckingham Street in central Dublin has been released. A file is being sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions, gardai said. Mr Beresford was stabbed at about 1 a.m. on Monday. He was taken to the Mater Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
