A Dublin man pleaded guilty at the Special Criminal Court yesterday to having an improvised explosive device at Ringsend last year.

Noel Mooney (29), Leo Fitzgerald House, Dublin, admitted the unlawful possession of an improvised explosive device at Seán Moore Park, Ringsend, on May 8th last year. He also pleaded guilty to the unlawful possession of two shotgun cartridges on the same date.

He was remanded on bail for sentencing in October.
