A man has died following a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision in Co Louth this morning.

A man has died following a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision in Co Louth this morning.

The incident happened when a truck driver lost control of his vehicle at 7.45am on the R173 at Ballymascanlon near Dundalk.

The deceased was removed to Louth County Hospital. No one else was injured in the collision.

Gardaí later named the man as 48-year-old Michael Kelly from Grange Drive, Muirhevnamore, Dundalk, Co Louth.
