Man held after discovery of woman's body in Dun Laoghaire

A male in his early 30’s has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a woman's body in Dun Laoghaire last night.

A male in his early 30’s has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a woman's body in Dun Laoghaire last night.

The body of the woman, who was aged in her late 20's, was discovered in a flat in in Bentley House, George's Place.

Bentley House is a home meless shelter run by Catholic social care agency Crosscare which offers emergency accommodation and shared apartments for more than 40 homeless people.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination by the Garda Technical Bureau and the office of the State Pathologist has attended.

The man, who was arrested at about 5am this morning is currently being held at Dun Laoghaire Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
