A man in his 30s has been seriously injured during an attack in Dublin's north inner city last night.
A Garda spokeswoman said the man was attacked by a number of people at Great Strand Street, behind Ormond Quay, at around 9.30pm.
He suffered serious head injuries and is in a critical condition in the Mater hospital.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them at Store Street Garda Station on 01-6668000.
