A 34-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital following a serious assault at Summerhill Parade, Dublin, yesterday evening.
He was found injured on the street between a pub and a the Gala supermarket at Summerhill Parade on Thursday night.
It is believed he had been drinking in nearby Lowry’s pub on Summerhill Parade before a row broke out.
The victim, from Ballymun in Dublin, was taken first to the Mater hospital but was later moved to Beaumont Hospital.
It is understood he suffered serious head injuries.
A spokeswoman for Beaumont Hospital said the man was critical but stable.
Detectives were examining the scene this afternoon. Gardaí have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Fitzgibbon Street Garda station at 01-6668400.
