A man charged with beating a donkey to death was returned for trial to the Circuit Criminal Court yesterday.
Mr Alan Carmichael (22), of Castleview, Streamstown, Malahide, is charged with killing and criminally damaging a female donkey at Casino, Dublin Road, Malahide, on May 30th. Judge Sean Delap returned Mr Carmichael to the Circuit Criminal Court on independent bail of £1,500. He also remanded him back to Swords District Court on May 25th, on charges of cruelly beating and cruelly ill-treating the donkey.
