A man was charged in Dublin District Court yesterday with causing serious harm to an Englishman at Pearse Street in the city last Sunday morning.

Mr David Colclough (20), of Pearse Street, was also charged with possession of a knife. He was granted bail on his own bond of £300 and an independent surety of £5,000.

In addition, he was ordered to sign on daily at Pearse Street Garda station until his next appearance in court next Monday.

Mr David Richardson (46) sustained multiple stab wounds to his chest and back when he was attacked by a gang of youths outside the IDA centre on Pearse Street.
