A 33-year-old man appeared in court in Northern Ireland today charged with the possession of information likely to be of use to terrorists.

Mr Shaun Alexander Leighton, a kennel keeper of Mosside Gardens, Ballymoney, Co Antrim, was alleged to have had a computerised record containing personal details of a number of people on March 5th.

Mr Leighton was remanded in custody until May 25th when he appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court in Co Antrim today.

An RUC detective told the court that when charged Mr Leighton replied "not guilty".
