A man appeared in a Dublin court yesterday charged in connection with credit card offences.

Mr Mohammed Salem (35), with an address at Thomas Clarke Tower, Ballymun, Dublin, faced four counts of possession of counterfeit credit cards under the Larceny Act at Century Business Park, Finglas, on Wednesday.

Det Garda Maread Doyle said she arrested Mr Salem at Airways Industrial Estate, Santry, on Wednesday morning and when he was charged later that night he had nothing to say. The court heard he was on social welfare and was applying for free legal aid.

Judge Miriam Malone granted legal aid.

Mr Salem, an Egyptian national, was remanded in custody to Cloverhill District Court on May 16th.
