A man accused of attacking prostitutes has been charged with nine further offences of sexual assault, false imprisonment and robbery. Mr Robert Melia (31), of Philipsburgh Avenue, Fairview, had been charged with raping one woman at Kilmainham and robbing another in Pearse Street.

Yesterday he was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a third woman at Laverty Court, Leeson Street, on October 19th, assault causing harm, false imprisonment and robbing her of property worth £81; falsely imprisoning a woman at Irwin Court, Kilmainham, on October 21st, assaulting her and robbing her of property worth £55; and aggravated sexual assault and false imprisonment of a woman at Misery Hill, Pearse Street, on September 28th, whose property worth £120 he had already been charged with robbing.

Judge Catherine Murphy remanded him on continuing bail to appear on February 4th.
