A man had nothing to say when he was charged with the murder of another man who was shot dead in front of his partner and young son in Dublin three years ago. Séamus O’Byrne (27) was shot in his driveway at Tymon Park North, Tallaght, on March 13th, 2009.

Eugene Cullen (29), Derry Road, Crumlin, was arrested on Monday when he arrived back in Ireland following his extradition from the Netherlands.

Det Garda Colin Rochford told Judge Bryan Smyth at Dublin District Court that a warrant for his arrest had been issued in March. Mr Cullen was brought to Tallaght Garda station where he was charged on Monday evening with Mr O’Byrne’s murder.

Det Garda Rochford asked the court to remand Mr Cullen in custody for one week.
