A 28-year-old man has been charged with attempting to murder two women in Belfast.

A 28-year-old man has been charged with attempting to murder two women in Belfast.

The women were stabbed, one of them 13 times, near the centre of the city early this morning.

Police officers found the badly wounded pair in an entry close to a bar off High Street.

One had been stabbed in the back, and the second was stabbed repeatedly about the body.

PSNI Inspector Mr Tom Haylett said: "It was unprovoked violence without provocation."
