A man serving a nine year prison term for manslaughter has been remanded for sentence on February 5th next by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on a charge of maliciously wounding another man in the city centre.

John Gavagan (32), from Ballyfermot but with no fixed address, admitted wounding Mr Liam McLennan at Morning Star Avenue, Grangegorman on October 2nd, 1994.

Judge Michael Moriarty was told Gavagan had been sentenced to nine years at the Central Criminal Court in July 1995 for the manslaughter of Anthony O'Brien at Grangegorman in October 1994.
