A 26-year-old man pleaded guilty in the Central Criminal Court yesterday to raping a young woman in Cavan last year. The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was remanded on continuing bail to appear before Mr Justice Carney for sentence on December 18th. He admitted raping the woman, now 18, on August 1st, 1997.
