Man (26) held after NI disturbances

A 26-year-old man has been arrested after a police officer was injured in disturbances in Co Antrim today.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested after a police officer was injured in disturbances in Co Antrim today.

The officer suffered minor injuries to his head in the incident, which took place at about 2.20am in the Diamond area of Ballycastle. Police were attempting to break up several fights involving around 12 people.

Officers deployed CS spray when a number of the individuals turned their aggression on police.
