A prominent loyalist, Ms Pauline Gilmore, who was arrested on explosives charges during the Drumcree crisis in July was freed on bail in the High Court in Belfast yesterday. A Crown lawyer made it clear she was not suspected of being a terrorist.

Mr Justice Shiel ordered her to stay away from Drumcree and Portadown and not to attend any public protests or demonstrations. Ms Gilmore (32), from Ardenvohr Street, Belfast, had been in custody since July 15th on charges of possessing a blast bomb, 21 explosive pipe darts and 14 rounds of ammunition with intent to endanger life.
