The European Bureau for Lesser Used Languages has called on the Government to press for a greater commitment to linguistic diversity in any reshaping of the Maastricht Treaty. In its submission to the Inter Governmental Conference, it suggests nine amendments to make it more difficult to discriminate against minority groups on grounds of language or cultural identity.
