A man believed to be from Limerick was arrested along with several Britons on the Spanish resort of Costa del Sol on a £2.1 million drugs haul.
Limerick garda∅ said last night they were aware of the arrest and were awaiting confirmation from the Spanish authorities as to the man's identity. "We have not been notified officially and cannot say anything further at this stage," said a Garda spokesman.
The man was named in Spain as Mr Seβn Donnellan (37), but garda∅ here could not confirm any local address for him.
Seven hundred kilos of cannabis resin and four vehicles were seized. Spanish police said the drugs were believed to be destined for the British Isles.
