Controversial university lecturer Mr Denis Riordan was removed by gardaí from the Supreme Court today after he called the three presiding judges "liars".

Mr Justice Murray asked for Mr Riordan to be removed after the University of Limerick academic told the judges they were "corrupt" and "liars".

The subject of today's hearing was the State's application for costs to be awarded against Mr Riordan in relation to one of his cases against the State.

Costs were awarded against him in his absence.
