LONDON - Fears of Armageddon coming in the shape of an asteroid were revived yesterday when it was disclosed that a large meteorite had smashed into a remote area of Honduras, leaving a 165 ft-wide crater.

The rock, which appeared as a large fireball, set several acres of coffee plants ablaze, damaged a main road and terrified peasants near the village of San Luis. News of the incident, which happened on the night of November 22nd, emerged only yesterday. Scientists in Britain said it highlighted the real danger posed by objects from space hitting Earth.
