Racing:Kazal could go on a retrieval mission later this month following his fall at Fairyhouse on Sunday.
Eoin Griffin's smart hurdler had just taken the lead when taking a nasty tumble three from home on his fencing debut in the Ballymore Properties Drinmore Novice Chase.
The six-year-old gelding was reported to be none the worse for the experience, however, and he could be back in action the weekend after next.
"He seems OK, so we're happy enough that there's nothing wrong with him because he took quite a heavy fall," said Griffin.
"We were happy with the way he was going up until then. It was always my fear that when he hit the front he would race a bit lazily and not do too much. He always tended to do that in his hurdle races.
"We thought that when he hit the front he might switch off, maybe that's what happened. I'm not sure. Whatever the reason he hit the deck.
"We'll give him a couple of easy days and if everything is OK later in the week we'll start back with him.
"Then if everything goes according to plan we might go to Navan on the 16th for a two-and-a-half mile beginners' chase.
"There's an alternative race at Fairyhouse the previous day, a three-mile beginners' chase. I may take him to one or the other."
