Nigerian international Nwankwo Kanu has put his future at Arsenal in doubt by insisting he is not prepared to be a substitute next season.

Kanu, 25, started only 13 premier league games for Arsenal last season and said he would be prepared to move back to his former club Inter Milan if the opportunity arose.

"I deserve a place in the first team at Arsenal. One thing I'm sure of is that I will not want to sit on the bench like last season," the striker told Sky Sports today.

"Inter have been asking after me but nothing is concrete yet. I still have a lot of admirers at Inter, particularly president Moratti, who is like a father to me.

"However, there is no need for me to rush out. With me, anything is possible, and I could be playing for Inter again."
