Relatives of the 13 people shot dead on Bloody Sunday in Derry in January 1972 said yesterday they were disappointed but not surprised by the decision of the European Commission on Human Rights to rule as inadmissible their case against the British government.
The Bloody Sunday Justice Group said that, although the Commission had turned down their case for submission to the European Court of Human Rights, the relatives were now examining the possibility of taking their case to the United Nations.
"Our campaign is based on the fundamental principle of achieving justice and that will remain our over riding concern," said Mr Tony Doherty chairman of the group.
