A judge has banned all newspapers from publishing photographs or commenting on the appearance or demeanour of Mrs Catherine Nevin, the former Wicklow publican accused of the murder of her husband over three years ago.

The judge's order is temporary, and further submissions will be heard on Monday, after a new jury has been sworn in.

Miss Justice Carroll made the interim order in the Central Criminal Court.

Mrs Nevin (48) has been accused of the murder of her husband, Thomas Nevin, then aged 54, on March 19th, 1996, in their home at Jack White's Inn, Ballina park, near Brittas Bay in Co Wicklow. Mrs Nevin has also denied charges of soliciting three named men to kill him in 1989 and 1990.
