Santiago - Five retired Chilean military officers have been charged with kidnapping and murdering 76 people in 1973 after retired Gen Augusto Pinochet seized power in a bloody coup. The five men were allegedly part of the "Death Caravan", a military squad that roamed from town to town in northern Chile in October and November 1973 searching for left-wingers.
