Thieves escaped with some €140,000 after they stole an ATM machine in Co Wexford early this morning.

The cash machine was pulled from the wall outside a Bank of Ireland branch at Rosslare Harbour using a JCB digger stolen from a construction site at Killinick, about five miles away.  The JCB was driven along the main Rosslare to Dublin road to the harbour.

A trailer was used to take the machine from the scene.  It is believed the thieves used rural roads to make their escape.
