Cricket:Dates for the first round of fixtures in the ICC Intercontinental Cup were announced today with Ireland set to take on Namibia later this month and again at the start of July when the sides meet in 50-over games at Stormont.

The first round of fixtures will see Phil Simmons’ side host Namibia in Belfast from June 28th-1st and again in two 50-over format games on July 4th and 5th. The teams that finish first and second will go on to play in the Intercontinental Cup final scheduled to be played at the end of 2013.

In addition to the Intercontinental Cup fixtures, the 50-over competition will be played between the eight participating countries - Afghanistan, Canada, Ireland, Kenya, Netherlands, Namibia, Scotland and United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The 50-over matches between the six Associate teams - Afghanistan, Canada, Ireland, Kenya, Netherlands and Scotland - currently with One-Day International status will be classed as ODIs.
