The Garda in Dublin has begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of man in garda custody this morning.
A garda spokesperson said a 32-year-old man was arrested on warrant and taken to Terenure Garda Station at around 2.55am.
The man was checked at 8am but could not be woken. He was taken to St James's Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.
The Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission has been advised of the death.
