Intel is expected to announce worldwide job cuts of at least 10,000 employees on Tuesday.
The company is one of the State's largest employers with over 5,000 permanent and contract staff.
A report in today's Irish Timessaid a spokeswoman for Intel Ireland had declined to indicate whether any Irish jobs would be affected.
The plant manufactures high-end chips for notebook and desktop computers.
