The man charged with the murders of British schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman is due in court tomorrow.

Mr Ian Huntley is scheduled to appear before magistrates in Peterborough. It will the former school caretaker's first court appearance since being charged with killing the two 10-year-old girls.

Mr Huntley was charged with the girls' murders on August 20th and is being held at Rampton high security hospital.

A police spokesman says he does not know whether he is likely to enter a plea to the charges.

Mr Huntley (28) was a caretaker at Soham Village College when the girls vanished from their home town.

His partner, Ms Maxine Carr (25), a former teaching assistant in Holly and Jessica's class at St Andrew's primary school, has appeared in court accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Her next scheduled appearance is at Peterborough Crown Court on September 27th.

She is being held on remand in Holloway prison, north London, although her lawyers say they are considering making an application for bail.
