The National Cancer Screening Service is making a number of appointments in preparation for the national expansion of BreastCheck. The service is seeking a histopathology registrar from January 2008 to June 2008, based at the southern screening unit and the Mercy University Hospital, Cork.

A screening promotion officer (grade VII) is also sought for the BreastCheck screening unit in Galway. The salary range is €47,606-€58,121. A systems administrator (grade VI) position is also available. This post is based in the central office in Dublin. The salary scale is €45,378-€52,010. The closing date for applications for all these posts with the NCSS is Thursday, November 22nd.

A social care leader is sought by Dalkey, Co Dublin-based Home Again (formerly the Los Angeles Society) to work with two residential centres for young people who are living out of home.

Children's University Hospital, Temple Street is seeking a temporary consultant paediatrician based in the Department of Respiratory Medicine, commencing in February.

Beaumont Hospital in Dublin has a number of positions open, including an A&E emergency GP liaison nurse (CNMII) and a senior medical scientist in histopathology.

Beaumont is also seeking a medical scientist in immunology and senior occupational therapists in neurosurgery and stroke care.

There is also an opening for a basic grade occupational therapist and a position for an audiological scientist. Beaumont is also recruiting a data manager (grade VI) for its symptomatic breast service.

At the Mater hospital in Dublin, applications are invited for the post of registrar in cardiology and registrar in emergency medicine. Three six-month posts are also available for medical SHOs.

The Mater is also seeking a locum consultant neurologist/senior lecturer in neurology (UCD) to begin in December for a one-year fixed-term contract. A locum consultant anaesthetist post starting in January for six months is also available at the hospital.
