The RUC in Strabane said yesterday that a republican paramilitary gang subjected a family to "a horrific ordeal" late on Tuesday night. Three armed and masked men forced their way into the house at Beechmount Avenue in the Ballycolman Estate. It was occupied by a woman and her son.
Police said the gang left after issuing a threat against a member of the family who was not present.
