By air means going to Milan with Aer Lingus or Alitalia, and overland from there. A European gateway airport such as Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, or Amsterdam can take you closer, with flights to Pisa and Florence. If you are planning on driving, the ferry to France could be the best bet. Watch for offers from Irish Ferries and Brittany Ferries.
