Despite reports that a couple with their two foster-children had been seen in various parts of the Republic, most recently Tralee, the Garda said it had no firm proof that a positive sighting had been made.
It is understood that an English couple with two children, vaguely matching the description of the couple being sought by British police, were interviewed by Tralee gardai, but they did not tally with the description given. The Garda in Cork said they had no knowledge of the couple's whereabouts, although they were aware that a search was on for them. "So far, there are no indications that they have arrived in Cork. In cases like this, you would be looking for some astute observer to make contact and say exactly where the adults and the children are," a Garda source said.
