Gardaí are continuing to question three men today about the discovery of 5.5 million smuggled cigarettes in Ireland and Holland.

They were arrested by gardaí investigating the operations of dissident republican group the "Real IRA". Officers found 2.5 million cigarettes in a warehouse in Co Monaghan, while three million were found in Holland by Dutch police last weekend.

Two men are being held in Drogheda and one in Dundalk, Co Louth. A woman (38) arrested yesterday was released from Ashbourne Garda station in Co Meath yesterday evening. A man was released from Dundalk earlier in the day.

Two men are also being questioned in Holland.
