Gardai are investigating two suspicious deaths following the separate discovery of men's bodies in Co Galway.

Post mortem tests were to be carried out by State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy to establish the causes of death.

One body was found in a wood at Clarinbridge on the coast west of Galway City, said a Gardai spokesman. It is not known how long the body had been there.

The other body, that of a 61-year-old man, was discovered earlier in a house in the Bushypark area of Galway.
