Gardaí in Mayo are investigating a collision shortly before Christmas which resulted in the death of an elderly man in hospital last night.
The collision occurred on Saturday December 29th at 8pm on the Castlebar Road in Westport.
Sean Neilus (83) of Father Angelus Park, Westport was injured when the bicycle he was cycling was in collision with a car.
He was taken to Castlebar General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9.45pm last night, a Garda statement said.
