It was high scoring day in GAA today with the inter-county fixture scheduleregaining some normality since foot-and-mouth precautionary measures were first imposed.

A handful of hurling fixtures took place, in contrast to the lone football clash that pitted Kerry against Dublin in Killarney.

Kerry 2-09Dublin 0-10

The Dubs arrived in the Kingdom boosted by the return of Ciaran Whelan and began the tie with some crisp football that troubled the homeside early on.Kerry struggled to keep in touch in the first half but improved immensely in the second and scored 1-07 after the break to Dublin’s paltry three points.

Tipperary 5-15 Waterford 2-15

In hurling the clash of the day saw freescoring Tipperary dismiss a Waterford side who despite scoring 2-15 were unimpressive.The crux of the problem was that Tipperary scored five goals, three of them in the first half from the hurls of Brian O’Meara (2) and Liam Cahill.

Waterford opened the second half with a goal from the dangerous Paul Flynn who’s best efforts were hardly mirrored by his teammates.That goal was answered by four Tipperary points without response, taking the wind out of Waterford sails.Two more goals followed from Eugene O’Neill and Lar Corbett to kill of the tie.

Wexford 2-14 Cork 1-09

Wexford turned in a good performance to eradicate the memory of their disappointing showing last time out against the Leesiders.Paul Cod made sure of the points with a personal haul of 1-07 to lead against a disjointed Cork side.

Div 1A: Clare 4-20Dublin 2-13

Three first half goals from PJ O’Connell, Barry Murphy and Tony Conaty were enough for the Banner County to see of Dublin in Parnell Park today.

Galway 2-19 Limerick 2-12

Galway won by seven against Limerick with a prominent performance from Alan Kearns.David Tierney and Ollie Fahy goals sealed the points.The win leaves Galway on six points with Clare.

Kerry top Division two with six points after a comfortable victory over Roscommon in the only Division 2 game of the day.

Div 3
Donegalwon away to Monaghan while Fermanagh won at home against Mayo.Performance of the day however came from Longford who banged in eight goals and 16 points to see off Cavan.
